Mindful Movement – In-person FLOOR    10:45 am

The class includes practice and exploration of balance and fall prevention, flexibility and coordination, and Parkinson’s Wellness Recovery (PWR)! Moves.  We do seated movement practices and a significant amount of standing and stepping in many directions.  We move on the floor in a variety of positions (back, front, side-lying, sitting) as well as in all-fours and modified all-fours positions.  In each class, we incorporate cognitive challenges, some strength training and address vocal, hand and facial issues.   For health and safety, each student  uses props stored in their assigned cloth bag and  I encourage students to bring their own mat.  Mats are available on-site as well.

Moves.  Our pace is appropriate for those with advanced symptoms.  We do seated movement practices and some standing, if a student is able to do so safely.  For health and safety, each student uses props stored in their assigned cloth bag.  The class is small to address individual needs.  Care Partners are welcome to attend.

Mindful Movement – Online MIXED    2:30 pm

The class includes practice and exploration of balance and fall prevention, flexibility and coordination, and Parkinson’s Wellness Recovery (PWR)! Moves.  We do seated movement practices and a significant amount of standing and stepping in many directions.  Options for floor work are provided:  moving on the floor in a variety of positions (back, front, side-lying, sitting) as well as in all-fours and modified all-fours positions.  For students unable to do floor work, alternatives in sitting and/or standing will be provided. In each class, we incorporate cognitive challenges, some strength training and address vocal, hand and facial issues.

You will need:
— a chair with a firm seat that includes open floor space on either side and behind it
— a mat and floor space on all sides of it, ideally in a location seen by the camera of your device
— access to about 5 feet of blank wall space with 4 feet minimum open floor space in front of it
— stretchy band for strength training
— the most recent version of zoom software loaded on your device.  I can assist you with this
